USAC Dirt Midget Association Rained Out at Bear Ridge Speedway
BY MARK McKEON
BRADFORD, VT - The USAC Dirt Midget Association suffered its second rain out of the season at Bear Ridge Speedway Saturday night.
Track owner CV Elms lived up to his never-say-die reputation by enduring a lengthy delay and then sending out an armada of equipment, including a pair of graders, a tiller, a small fleet of big trucks and The Bear Ridge Jet Drier – a freshly felled fir tree dragged behind a tractor. It was all in vain however, because the rain returned shortly after the track work started.
When the Midgets return to The Home of The Coupes on August 11, defending champ “Flatfoot Joe” Krawiec will be looking for his third win of the season; Kevin Chaffee, Scott Holcomb and Dana Shaw will be looking for their second and a talented array of competitors will be looking for their first |
